made it to malaga and got super stoked on the avion for mi nueva aventura!!! my girl jeannette came to pick me up at the airport and hopped into a taxi with manolo. o if we only knew that manolo would be the end of us and the end of jeanettes stomach. ended up finding ourselves in the freakin boonnies. up in the ranchos of Benalmádena, made a pit stop while jeannette took care of buisness. finally made it to our paraíso but decided we'd lug all our luggage and get dumped at jeannettes school in alhaurin de la torre. so check it. two auxiliares showin up to a school straight from the airport with rollin luggage in hand. forget the hostel. staight to the school we showed up but the whole staff was super friendly and welcoming. made it back to our apartment and signed out contract and moved in. done deal. the next morning had breakfast on our terrace looking out over the ocean and thought to ourselves, "who are we?!!" i mean our piso is siiick and has the siickest view of all Benalmádena y fuengirola and swimming in the piscina over-looking the playa is just unreal!! the first couple days were exciting getting settled and figuring out the bus situation and hitchin a ride down to the puerto marina while rockin out to 102.8 w our amigo from cadiz. did the corney tourist thing and discoverd that skin suckin fish are all the rage down here. new form of exfoliation. took cheapy foto booth shots. walkin the boardwalk and lookin out into the ocean i could not believe how blessed i was to get to come back and live here. found ourselved eating lunch beach side at a nice restaurant. sippin on mi sopa de mariscos and made amigos with the staff. ended up taking us to a bar and buying us our jugos. piña y naranja. then found myself crusin through the streets of benalmadena on a scooter. jeannette and i spotted out Antonio Banderas street. fun fact: he was born in Benalmádena. im living Zorro's hood. ended off the night playing darts con our amigo tony and getting free manzana 'non-alcoholic' drinks. made amigos con jorge on the bus back and got to see a procession con una virgen go by. the next day went to church and went up to check out the carnival in torremolinos and ended up making amigos con dos morrocans. ended up workin at the carnival and telling us they would hook it up with tix for all the rides and fuengirolas fair!! went on the best run down at the beach con jeannette sunday evening. stoked i got mi nueva barcelona run/ running partner. shout out to my girl yolanda!! mon first day of work so got the tour of mi C.E.I.P Jacaranda con antonio and met the staff and got to meet some of mis ninos!! so the school is on a hill overlooking all of Benalmádena and the ocean!! found out i work 3 days a week, mon through wed!! so first couple of days was just the tour and getting my schedule!! thur mornin was orientation in Málaga!! got a 4 hour speel and later fiesta!! all you can eat platters of typical spanish dishes!!! went to town on the ensalada malagueña, gazpacho, sopa de almendra, shrimp skewers, paella, madd fruit tarts and rocked out to the live band. later that night went to out for meditteranean food, pita y hummus, with our greek amiga danai and ended off the night at zzbar where a clown gave us flower balloons. Stayed over at danais and the next morning had to get things done. n.i.e. temporary card. done. saldo on mi movil. done. above all i am just feeling super blessed to be here and getting to spend it with the best roomie and partner in crime, mi mexicana jeannette!!!
